As thanksgiving approaches we are turning to ways to serve and show love to our communities.
Do you know someone who is hurting or facing hard circumstances and won’t be able to have thanksgiving dinner this year? If so, we’d like to help!
COFA Women’s Ministry will be filling Thanksgiving baskets for those who have hard circumstances. We are planning to fill 10 baskets. We also need many people to step forward and show love to strangers by filling baskets!

What is it and Who is it for?
Thanksgiving is a great time to be thankful for everything we have and all we have to love. It’s also important that we serve others during this time, especially those who may be facing hard circumstances! These baskets go to families who are “Nominated” by friends of COFA.
How does it work?
A friend of COFA nominates a family down on their luck. Another friend of COFA provides the items for a basket as a donation. The person who nominated the family is responsible to come and pick up the basket and deliver it to the family they nominated.
Who can be nominated?
Families facing hardships such as cancer or other severe medical condition, recent loss of parent/partner, divorce, etc. We are hoping to provide for families who otherwise would not be able to have thanksgiving dinner.
What comes in a basket?
Each Basket provides a turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, candied yams and marshmallows, greenbeans, rolls, pumpkin pie, and whipped cream!

Prep:
Nominated families should be prepared to do a little bit of cooking. Directions will be provided in each basket for turkey prep and reheating of other items.
The deadline for nominating a family is Wednesday November 10th. The Deadline to “Adopt” a basket is November 13th.
- Baskets must be brought to (LOCATION PENDING) By 11 o’clock on Saturday November 20th. Boxes are provided for delivery. The person who nominates a family MUST pickup and deliver the basket. We will have the baskets put together and ready for pickup/delivery by 3 o’clock.
