COFA is partnering with the Colorado Parks & Wildlife to provide Hunter Safety Education.

 

At this course, students will complete the Internet Conclusion Course in a classroom setting that includes lectures, hands-on activities, and videos. Registering for this class meets your requirement to pre-register for a conclusion class as described at the  Colorado Parks and Wildlife website for the Internet Conclusion Course.

About the Event: Comprehensive Instruction in Colorado Hunting Safety Education: This official training program is developed to meet the standards for Hunting safety education established by Colorado. Hunter Ed is the only safety course provider that develops print materials on behalf of government agencies responsible for Hunting laws and regulations.

 

Hunter education cards will be awarded to students upon successful completion of the course, which includes attending all class sessions, passing a written test, and live fire. Rifles and ammunition for the live fire will be provided. No personal firearms are allowed.

 

Cost:  $10 fee for the course.

 

Schedule:  Classroom instruction will be from 7:30 am-noon at the Skyline Hunting & Fishing Club in Littleton. Directions will be provided upon registration. The range for the live fire portion of the class, from 1-3 pm, will be at the same location. NOTE: Children under 10 years old are prohibited from entering the SHFC range due to safety regulations. If you want to schedule your child under 10, please choose a different date at a different location (for example, the classes scheduled from Aug to Dec 2023). Click here to go to our Events List.

 

Prerequisite Info: Please keep in mind, a prerequisite for this class is the online instruction portion at the Colorado  Parks & Wildlife website.  You must bring proof (your signed certificate) showing you successfully completed the online course and passed the online exam.  The online portion takes 6-10 hours or more depending on individual speed, please allow time and plan accordingly.

Important Note - Directions to location: Using GPS may not take you to the right location. Please be aware of the directions to this location. Lockheed Martin Recreation Area, 11757 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Littleton, CO 80125. Directions: From C-470 and Wadsworth, go 3.75 miles south on Wadsworth. Turn right on the road leading to Colorado Golf and Turf. Turn right again on Skyward Road and follow the road .75 miles to Building M41.
