 >The history of the COFA Kids' Free Paper Turkey T
 arget Shoot</h2>\n \n <p>While watching a movie ba
 sed on the life story of Sergeant Alvin York\, a W
 orld War 1 congressional medal (CMH) honor winner\
 , there was a part in the movie where Alvin was in
  a turkey shoot as a young man. The turkey shoot t
 ook place in the hills of Tennessee. Several COFA 
 members have seen this movie and we thought it loo
 ked like a great event for our kids. COFA's free K
 ids' Turkey Shoot is for <strong>boys and girls fr
 om 8 to 15 years of age</strong>. We at COFA want 
 an event that is fun for kids and a learning exper
 ience for them as well. While the competition is o
 nly for those between 8 and 15\, kids of any age m
 ay participate in the bb gun target shoot as long 
 as they are able to safely hold and reach the trig
 ger of a bb gun.</p>\n \n <p> </p>\n \n <h2>How it
  Works</h2>\n \n <p><a href="http://cofausa.org/wp

 \n \n <p>The kids will shoot a designated amount o
 f BB's at paper targets to see if they can win a f
 rozen turkey. The scorers will add up total amount
  of hits near bullseye to determine the winner. Bo
 ys and girls are put into age brackets (8-9\, 10-1
 1\, 12-13\, 14-15). A frozen turkey is awarded to 
 the winner of each age category! Four prizes per a
 ge group! COFA provides the BB guns so everyone ha
 s a fair chance at shooting. We don't allow person
 al BB guns...just COFA's!</p>\n \n <p> </p>\n \n <
 h2>Why We Do It</h2>\n \n <p>One of the purposes o
 f the Kids' Turkey Shoot is to get them involved i
 n the outdoors and away from sitting on the couch 
 playing with their electronics. Our kids today\, f
 or the most part\, have no clue how much fun it ca
 n be doing fun things in the outdoors. That's what
  COFA does so well\, it helps families and individ
 uals connect with each other while doing activitie
 s like camping\, fishing\, ATVing\, hunting\, hiki
 ng\, biking\, etc. Through COFA's events like the 
 Kids' Turkey Shoot\, fathers and sons reconnect an
 d build their relationship with each other. Same w
 ith mothers and daughters...they reconnect as well
 . COFA's ministry is to get families to develop he
 althy bonds through outdoor events.</p>\n \n <p>Si
