HID Lights

Postby LJ Whitson » Tue Jan 12, 2010 9:28 am

Just wondering if anyone has considered replacing standard headlights on your ATV with HID lights. I have, and very happy with results. Great for when your out in the middle of nowhere(heavy dark woods) after dark and really want to see where your going.

Cost could easily be under $100 on ebay. Kits normally come with everything you need.

Never thought about it. I mainly use my head lamp with riding. back at night from the woods.

headlamps are great, but when riding on a country trail...headlights are a must...have had deer jump out in front of me at night...now that was scary!

How hard is the install? Does it require anything special?

Cost depends on quality, so need to research on quality. Buy from inside US and from company that you can easily communicate with. Price could range from $75 on up for a set. There are now companies that make HID lights specifically for ATV's. Many people now are keeping original lights and adding LED spotlights. Much more expensive, but a whole lot less work to install. Check out "Nyroc" website. All kinds of information for ATV'ers and lights and installation. If going with HID, need to understand how they work and plan out how to do the wiring.

What color duct tape do you suggest? Black, red or camo?
