Camping cots, what is a good one?

Postby Mike Brooks » Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:23 pm

I think a cot is needed for a few good reasons, it keeps you off the ground and dry. In the tents the ground will sweat and a good cot will prevent you from having a saturated sleeping bag. Believe me, I have slept on the ground while using an air mattress, and was stiff, cold and very uncomfortable, with little sleep to show for the night. The guys that use cots will tell you it's a life saver. You can get them from Cabela's, Bass Pro or an army one works well.

The cablea's cot is a good one, had a friend of mine who used one, and bought one right away. Good cots will help you enjoy your hunt for sure. The army ones, well can be somewhat uncomfortable at times.

Sams Club has a cot right now that is very similar to the big Cabela's cot, only cost less.

I recommend a cot with a foam pad on top of it.
