Just wondering how long does coon season last in your state?

I have never coon hunted, I bet its fun, any idea's on how someone can get started?

a thread i can help on.....all you need to get started is a dog, a light, a pair of boots and some woods........ mike oct-feb is your ans down here in ga. also the ukcdogs.com is a wealth of knowledge on the subject just got to the forum and enjoy!

Hunting coons sounds fun, but the late nights, well that's another story :grin: I bet it gets cold.

I've tried hunting coons a few times..it was cold, it rained, and I had no dogs..just shined flashlight up in some trees, I actually got a nice big one..ended up giving it away to a friend..rather hunt elk..

ours is kinda messed up here in Ms

july 1-sept 30
oct 1-31(food and sport)
possum,racoon and bobcat Nov1-feb 28(food,sport and pelt)

no kidding just the way its printed in the outdoor digest put out by the MS dept. of wildlife
