A Minnesota man who shot and killed his 8-year-old son two years ago while turkey hunting has been charged with violating his parole and with a drunk driving offense. Anthony Klaseus was arrested after he accidentally knocked over a Belle Plaine resident's mailbox.
Leo Albrecht said he came home one afternoon a couple weeks ago to find his plastic mailbox shattered and mail scattered in a snowbank. "I saw tire tracks but I didn't know what happened" until Klaseus came by to explain that he hit the mailbox with the side-view mirrors on his pick-up truck, Albrecht said.
Albrecht said he called police after the mailbox accident because he noticed Klaseus' speech seemed "slow and deliberate." Police found open containers of alcohol in the truck, according to court officials. Area residents often walk along the streets rather than on the icy trails and sidewalks this time of year and he didn't want Klaseus causing another accident. "I didn't want to see anyone get hurt," Albrecht said.
Klaseus was convicted of second-degree manslaughter for the death of his son while they were turkey hunting. Court records showed that he had alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the accident. He had a blood-alcohol-concentration of 0.06 percent at the scene and had several partly empty beer packs and a marijuana pipe in his truck. _________________ Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not into your own understanding, Proverbs 3:5 |

Albrecht was lucky he was not checking his mail when Klaseus drove by.
I seem to remember the father killing son story sometime back but it seems to me it was less than two years ago. What is the sentence for 2nd degree manslaughter in Minn?
