The coyotes yelped and yelped..

Postby Mike Brooks » Wed Nov 28, 2007 2:57 pm

On Friday evening, the dogs went nuts, had a large pack of Coyotes behind the house, yelping away, must have been the fox they killed or the gut pile from the elk, who knows but was exciting to hear. Anyone else have a pack around them when they hunted?

I was over near Devils Tower, WY Monday hunting deer. Just before the 5:00 alarm went off the coyote's yelping to each other actually woke me up. At that point, I was glad not to be a sick or wounded animal!

yes to that! Coyotes can be extremely bad when in packs. I always carry a sidearm just in case.

I was out one night hunting hogs with dogs; when the dogs woke up or disturbed the coyote pack. It was pretty amazing sound.

They guy that runs the dogs won't let people carry guns around his dogs, so I did not have a firearm on me. They were not that close that it was a huge worry, and I was in the bed of the truck at the time.
