Mike, if you are looking to buy one you want either the Ten Point or Excalibur. Both are well constructed and will last. Where as Horton and most of the rest are not long lasting because they can't figure out the the Kinetic energy of these things ware the components down if constructed poorly.

You can pick up a use Excal by checking in with the boys on Excaliburcrossbow.com

But basic prices are 650 and up. I bought an excal , year old for 400

Did you see the Elk pic I'm doing. I still have about 8+ hrs to finish?

Most crossbows can be purchased in a kit. This saves money and provides you with everything you need to start hunting.

Do even think about a Horton. They were sold to Ten Point and have stopped making parts for them.

Mike I like Ten Point because is is compact. I can still reach over and pull the string by hand. The Excal is long and I need a pull string. But they both shot great and are equally sufficient for any game.
