COFA Fall Retreat: September 12-17, 2014
COFA (Christian Outdoor Fellowship of America) is offering the fishing trip of a lifetime in the great state of Minnesota. You will experience some of the greatest walleye fishing in the US located in the heart of North Central Minnesota. This trip is open to singles, couples, and families!
Come to the Northern Minnesota Lakes region for a Fishing Camp with COFA. We will be lodging in cabins and dining at Camp Oak Hills on Lake Marquette south of Bemidji, MN (home to Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox). The local lakes we will fish hold some of the nation’s largest walleye, northern pike, and muskellunge. You will get a chance to fish, trade stories, and take some great pictures.
This is a great way to encourage the anglers in your church and community to get involved with an outreach that shares the gospel in the great outdoors. COFA is a National outdoor ministry that partners with churches and helps promote the gospel while using nature as a ministry tool. Many outdoor enthusiasts will never darken the door of a church. However, when getting to know them in an outdoor setting enjoying their hobbies, then all bets are off. As a result, many will come to know the Lord because a believer took an interest in them.
What to Expect
At COFA Fall Retreat you will:
- Catch Fish and become a better angler (unless you only sit on the dock and drink the really good camp coffee).
- Grow in your relationship with God. Moving forward from wherever you are in your spiritual journey (Again your choice).
- Be a part of meeting and making some potential life-time outdoors friends.
- Probably get out-fished by Dan (At one point last year we had 5 Dans in camp. A couple of them are really good).
- Eat great food and enjoy some great fish fries from our catches.
- Come away with more than this list.
Fall Retreat is $450.00 or $225.00 if you only join us for the weekend. You can bring your boat, share a boat, or rent a boat! Cost of a fishing license and your personal gear is your responsibility. Discounts are available for those who bring their own power boat. If you are going to join us as a couple or family, please let Gary know so we can plan your accommodations accordingly.

Colorado Elk Hunt: October 16-22, 2014
If you’ve ever dreamed about hunting elk in the Colorado Rockies, don’t miss the 2014 Hunt! Imagine listening to a bugling bull in the aspen meadow just below the ridge you’re sitting on. The bull gets closer and closer…this could be the hunt you have always dreamed about! COFA provides some of the best reasons to go elk hunting. Pristine views, great hunting camp, safe environment for dad’s and their sons and plenty of elk, deer and bear.
Each and every year we have hunters who have never been in or hunted the Colorado Rockies. You should see the look in their eyes when the see the area we hunt in! These men along with their sons are in awe of the breath taking views they are seeing. They look like kids opening up their Christmas gifts.
COFA’s goal is to build relationships with those that attend a COFA hunt or any event for that matter. We want to be able to encourage through the COFA hunts building their spiritual walk and building better marriages, building better relations with their children. You may ask, well how do you do that if your hunting all day? The main event is not the hunt but what follows after the day is done. Those who are a part of COFA will lead a nightly devotional geared to certain issues that men deal with. Many have through the hunt camp devotionals restored marriages, broken relationships with friends and family members. Part of COFA’s staff has counselors and pastors willing to talk with those who need spiritual advice or guidance on all COFA events.
If you have never hunted elk I encourage you to come. Bring your son, maybe a friend, many in camp have experience of elk hunting and can help you learn the basics. We are not guides but will share the love of elk hunting with you, and yes many elk have been taken!
One of our hunters said “This is the best hunt camp I have ever been to. I made some new friends, and enjoyed seeing Godly men working together as a team in camp.” Another said “This is a great camp for my boys to be in, they are seeing Godly men in action”. The purpose of the COFA hunt camps is to build lasting relationships that will carry men into the eternity knowing and serving the Lord in this lifetime. We often hear about guys who had no relationships with their dads and can see that having a brother in Christ can help through the journey we are on now.
If you want to know more about the COFA rifle elk hunt, you can contact Mike at 303.456.0555 or George at 303.880.3800. This is a great way to bring an unchurched friend to the hunt to hear the gospel in a non-threatening way. You can make new friends while hunting Colorado’s high country.
